de Havilland D.H.100 Vampire FB Mk.50 (VA-7)

de Havilland Vampire Mk.1 oli Iso-Britannian toinen suihkumoottorilla varustettu hävittäjälentokone. Prototyypin ensilento tapahtui 30.9.1943, mutta toiseen maailmansotaa kone ei ehtinyt. Vuonna 1953 Suomen Ilmavoimat hankki kuusi de Havilland D.H.100 Vampire Mk.52 -konetta, jotka olivat käytössä vuosina 1953-1965. Suomen Ilmavoimat hankki opetusvälineeksi Kauhavalle Ruotsin ilmavoimien entisen Vampire-koneen. Koneen myöhempi omistaja hankki luvan maalata koneen kylkeen tunnuksen VA-7.

The de Havilland Vampire Mk.1 is the second British jet fighter. The prototype flew first time on September 30th 1943, but the Vampire did not enter to service before the end of WWII. The Finnish Air Force bought six Vampire Mk.52s in 1955 and used them 1953-1965. The Finnish Air Force bought an ex-Swedish Vampire for a teching aid to Kauhava. Later owned got permission to paint code "VA-7" on the aircraft.
