Fokker C.X (FK-113)

Fokker alkoi vuonna 1933 suunnitella seuraajaa menestyksekkäälle C.V -tiedustelukoneelle. Tuloksena oli C.X, joka alun perin oli tarkoitettu Hollannin Itä-Intian armeijan käyttöön. Kone soveltui sekä tiedustelukoneeksi että syöksypommittajaksi. Koneen prototyypin ensilento tapahtui 9.10.1934. Hollannin Ilmavoimat tilasi 20 ja Itä-Intian armeja 13 Rolls-Royce Kestler V12 -moottorilla varustettua konetta. Suomen Ilmavoimat tilasivat neljä Fokker C.X -konetta ja valmistuslisenssin 18.5.1936. Suomalaisissa koneissa oli Bristol Pegasus -tähtimoottorin seurauksena leveämpi runko. Fokkerin valmistamat koneet tulivat suomeen tammikuussa 1937. Valtion Lentokonetehdas teki kolmessa sarjassa vuosina 1938-1943 yhteensä 35 kpl Fokker C.X -koneita. Konetta käytettiin tiedustelu- ja valokuvauskoneena, vaaka- ja syöksypommittajana, tykistön tulenjohtokoneena ja kaukopartioiden huoltokoneena sekä sodan jälkeen myös maalinhinaus- ja yhteyskoneena. Viimeinen kone (FK-111) tuhoutui 25.1.1958.

In 1933 Fokker started the design of the successor for the successful C.V reconnaissance aircraft.The result was C.X which was intended for the Royal Dutch East Indies Army. The aircraft was both a reconnassaince aircraft and a dive bomber. The prototype made the maiden flight on October 9th 1934. The Dutch Air Force ordered 20 and the Royal Dutch East Indies Army 13 C.Xs. All of these were equipped with Rolls-Royce Kestler V12 engine. The Finnish Air Force ordered four C.Xs and a manufacturing licence on May 18th 1936. The Finnish C.X was equipped with Bristol Pegasus radial engine. Fokker delívered aircraft in January 1937. The State Aircraft Factory delivered 35 Fokker C.Xs 1938-1943. The Fokker C.X was used as reconnaissance and photo-reconnaissance aircraft as well as as bomber, dive bomber, observation aircraft and transport aircraft in war. After WWII Fokker C.X was used as target-tug and liaison aircraft. The last C.X (FK-111) destroyed on January 25th 1958.
