VL Myrsky II (MY-10)

VL Myrsky on Valtion Lentokonetehtaan Suomen Ilmavoimille suunnittelema ja rakentama hävittäjälentokone. Koneen suunnittelu käynnistyi vuonna 1939. Prototyyppi lensi ensilentonsa 23.12.1941 ja koesarjan koneet (3 kpl VL Myrsky I) kesällä 1943. 47 suursarjan konetta (VL Myrsky II) valmistui joulukuusta 1943 lähtien. MY-10 lensi ensilentonsa 18.7.1944 ja luovutettiin Tiedustelulentolaivue 12:lle. Kone vaurioitui laskussa Vesivehmaalle 23.11.1944. Kone korjattiin mutta vaurioitui uudelleen mahalaskussa Kuorevedelle 6.2.1947. Kone poistettiin, myytiin romuksi ja päätyi vuosien ulkosäilytyksen jälkeen keräilijälle.

The State Aircraft Factory designed and built VL Myrsky fighter aircraft for the Finnish Air Force. The design work was started in 1939. The prototype flew its maiden flight on December 23th 1941 and three preproduction aircraft (VL Myrsky I) in summer 1943. First of 47 series production aircraft (VL Myrsky II) delivered in December 1943. The MY-10 flew first time on July 18th 1944 and it was handed over to the Reconnaissance Squadron 12. The aircraft damaged in landing accident at Vesivehmaa on November 23th 1944 but it was repaired. The aircraft demaged seriously in belly landing at Kuorevesi on February 6th 1947. The aircraft was decommissioned and sold to scrap. The remainings were sold after long outside storing to a collector.
