Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2

Messerschmitt Bf 109 on ilmailuhistorian eniten valmistettu hävittäjälentokone ja tunnetuin saksalainen hävittäjälentokone. Koneen ensilento tapahtui 28.5.1935. Kaikkiaan konetta valmistettiin kaikki alamuunnokset huomioiden arviolta 36 000 kpl. Messerschmitt Bf 109 G pääsi tuotantoon vuonna 1942 ja kaikkiaan G-alatyyppiä valmistettiin noin 23 000 kpl. Suomen ilmavoimat sai ostaa vuonna 1943 16 uutta ja 14 korjattua Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2 -konetta, jotka saatiin maahan maalis-toukokuussa 1943. Myöhemmin saatiin 19 G-2-tyypin korvauskonetta sekä 112 G-6-tyypin ja kolme G-8-tyypin konetta. Koneilla saavutettiin jatkosodassa 663 ilmavoittoa. Konetyypin viimeisen lennon lensi MT-507 13.3.1954. MT-208 teki 1.8.1946 pakkolaskun Porin edustalle mereen mutta ohjaaja pelastui. Koneen ensimmäinen nostoyritys samana vuonna epäonnistui. Kone paikallistettiin vuonna 1983 ja Suomen Ilmailumuseon sukeltajaryhmä nosti koneen rungon vuonna 1999.

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is the holder of the production record for fighters. It is the best known Goerman WWII fighter. The prototype of Bf 109 took air first time on May 28th 1935. The total production including all versions was about 36 000 aircraft. The production of Messerschmitt Bf 109 F started in 1942 and the total production was about 23 000 aircraft. Finland bought 16 new and 14 repaired Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2s in 1942. The aircraft reached Finland between March and May 1943. Later Finland bought 19 G-2, 112 G-6 and 3 G-8 aircraft. The pilots claimed 663 kills by Messerschmitt Bf 109G. The last flight of the type was on March 13th 1954. MT-208 made the forced landing to sea front of Pori on August 1st 1946. The pilot survived. The first attempt to rise the aircraft unsucceed same year. The remains of the aircraft was located in 1983 and the diver team of the Finnish Aviation Museum rose the aircraft in 1999.
