VL Viima (VI-15)

VL Viima I:n pohjalta kehitetty VL Viima II lensi ensilentonsa 12.10.1937. Kone osoittautui onnistuneeksi ja sitä rakennettiin Valtion Lentokonetehtaalla 22 koneen sarja vuonna 1939. Kone palveli koulukoneena Suomen Ilmavoimissa. Tyypin viimeinen lento tehtiin VI-21:llä 17.8.1962. Kahdeksan Viimaa myytiin siviilikäyttöön.

VI-15 lensi ensilentonsa 4.10.1939. Kone siirrettiin varikolle 13.5.1960, jolloin lentoaikaa koneella oli 4 564 tuntia 35 minuuttia. Kone myytiin siviilikäyttöön 31.5.1960 ja se sai tunnuksen OH-VIE. Kone poistettiin rekisteristä 5.2.1969. Konetta on entisöity vuodesta 1994.

VL Viima II was derived from VL Viima I. The prototype of the VL Viima II took air first time October 12th, 1937. The VL Viima II was proven successful and the State Aircraft Factory delivered 22 VL Viima IIs in 1939. The Finnish Air Force used aircraft as a trainer. VI-21 made the last flight of the type in the Finnish Air Force August 17th, 1962. Eight VL Viima IIs were sold to civilian use.

VI-15 flew first time on October 4th 1939. It was written off on May 15th 1960 after 4,564 hours 35 minutes flying. It was sold to civilian use on May 31st 1960 and registered to OH-VIE. The aircraft was unregistered on February 5th 1969. The restoration work of the aircraft started in 1994.
