VL Pyry (PY-35)

VL Pyry on kaksipaikkainen harjoitushävittäjä, joka suunniteltiin ja valmistettiin Valtion Lentokonetehtaalla Tampereella. Koneen prototyypin ensilento tapahtui 29.3.1939. Konetyyppiä rakennettiin 40 kpl vuosina 1939-1941. Koneet palvelivat Suomen Ilmavoimissa jatkokoulutuskoneina ja yhteyskoneina vuosina 1939-1962. PY-1 ja PY-27 lensivät konetyypin viimeiset lennot 6.9.1962.

PY-35 lensi ensimmäisen kerran 23.4.1941. 28.5.1943 kone meni laskussa ympäri Kauhavan pehmeällä kentällä. 18.4.1951 meni mahalleen sivutuulilaskussa Vaasaan. Viimeinen lento 14.7.1961. Oli myöhemmin muistomerkkinä Kauhavalla.

VL Pyry is a two-seat fighter trainer designed and built by the State Aircraft Factory at Tampere. The first flight of the prototype took place on March 29th 1939. 40 Pyrys were built 1939-1941. They were used as advanced trainers and as liaision aircraft 1939-1962. The PY-1 and PY-27 made the types last flights on September 6th 1962.

The PY-35 flew first time on April 23th 1941. It crashed in landing at Kauhava on My 28th 1943 and at Vaasa on April 18th 1951. The last flight was on July 14th 1961. After that it was used as a memorial at Kauhava.
