Schleicher Ka-6E Rhönsegler

Yksipaikkaisen Schleicher Ka 6 -purjekoneen suunnitteli Rudolf Kaiser ja rakensi saksalainen Alexander Schleicher GmbH & Co. Kuusesta ja vanerista rakennetun kangaspäällysteisen koneen prototyyppi lensi ensilentonsa vuonna 1955. Kaikkiaan konetyyppiä rakennettiin yli 1 000. Ka 6E on konetyypin viimeinen versio, jossa on edelliseen versioon verrattuna pendeliperäsin, pidempi ohjaamon kuomu, matalampi runkoprofiili, lasikuituinen nokkakartio, siivenjuurten profilointi, parannettu johtoreuna ja parannetut alumiiniset lentojarrut.

Koneyksilö on rakennettu Porvoon Ilmailukerhossa 1970-luvun lopulla. Ilmeisesti kone ei ole koskaan valmistunut.

Single seat sailplane Schleicher Ka 6 was designed by Rudolf Kaiser and built by German Alexander Schleicher GmbH & Co. The aircraft is constructed of spruce and plywood with fabric covering. The prototype flew first time in 1955. The total production number with all variants was over 1,000. Ka 6E is the final version of the aircraft type. In comparison with Ka 6CR, Ka 6E has an all-moving tailplane, a longer canopy, a more aerodynamic fuselage, a glassfibre nose, wing-root fairings, an enhanced leading edge of the wing and better aluminium airbrakes.

This item has been built by Porvoon Ilmailukerho in the end of the 1970s. Probably the aircraft has never been finished.
