I.V.L. C.24

Suomen Ilmailuvoimat päätti vuonna 1922 alkaa hävittäjälentokoneen tuotannon kotimaassa. Saksalaisen hävittäjälentokoneen lisenssin ja piirustusten hankinnan epäonnistuttua Ilmailuvoimien Lentokonetehtaan konstruktööri Kurt Berger suunnitteli aikanaan nykyaikaisen hävittäjälentokoneen prototyypin I.V.L. C.24, joka lensi ensilentonsa 16.4.1924. Koneen parannettu versio (I.V.L. C.25) lensi ensilentonsa seuraavana kesänä. Molemmissa koneissa käytettiin Siemens-Halske Sh.III -birotatiivimoottoria, joka osoittautui epäluotettavaksi.

Kone on varastoituna Suomen Ilmavoimamuseossa. Kone on entisöity mutta varustettu todennäköisesti väärällä siivellä.

The Finnish Air Force decided in 1922 start the domestic fighter production. Due to unsuccessful procurement of the licence and the drawings of a German fighter, the engineer Kurt Berger designed an up-to-date fighter prototype I.V.L. C.24. The maiden flight of the aircract was April 16th, 1924. An enhanced version (I.V.L. C.25) took air next year. The Achilles heel of both aircraft was birotative radial engine Siemens-Halske Sh.III which was unreliable.

The aircraft is stored at the Finnish Air Force Museum. The aircraft is restored but probable equipped by a wrong wing.
