VL Viima II (OH-VIF)

VL Viima I:n pohjalta kehitetty VL Viima II lensi ensilentonsa 12.10.1937. Kone osoittautui onnistuneeksi ja sitä rakennettiin Valtion Lentokonetehtaalla 22 koneen sarja vuonna 1939. Kone palveli koulukoneena Suomen Ilmavoimissa. Tyypin viimeinen lento tehtiin VI-21:llä 17.8.1962. Kahdeksan Viimaa myytiin siviilikäyttöön.

VI-17 sai tunnuksen OH-VIF ja kone on edelleen lentokäytössä. Yksilöhistoria.

VL Viima II was derived from VL Viima I. The prototype of the VL Viima II took air first time October 12th, 1937. The VL Viima II was proven successful and the State Aircraft Factory delivered 22 VL Viima IIs in 1939. The Finnish Air Force used aircraft as a trainer. VI-21 made the last flight of the type in the Finnish Air Force August 17th, 1962. Eight VL Viima IIs were sold to civilian use. VI-17 became OH-VIF and it is still flying.
